We're in the early planning stages of the 2010 festival; as soon as we have final information, we'll put it up here. In the meantime, we've left the 2009 information up so you can get a feel for the fun you'll have at the Albuquerque Folk Festival.
2009 Schedule
The Folk Festival will run from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM on Friday, June 19 and 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Expo NM (New Mexico State Fairgrounds) in Albuquerque.

Friday Night
- 6:00 PM - Gates Open
- 6:00 PM - Instrument Checkroom available
- 6:30 PM - Performances and workshops begin
- 7:30 PM - Talent Contest begins on Main Stage
- 7:30 PM - Swing and Country Dance begins in the Dance Tent
- 7:30 PM - Balkan Dance Party begins in the Dance Building
- 10:00 PM - Instrument Checkroom closes
Saturday
- 9:30 AM - Gates open
- 9:30 AM - Instrument Checkroom available
- 10:00 AM - Opening entertainment
- 10:00 AM - Start signing up for the band scramble and the kids fiddle contest
- 11:00 AM - All venues open
- 12:45 PM - Deadline for signing up for the fiddle contest for kids under 13
- 1:00 PM - Kid's Fiddle Contest for children under 13
- 1:45 PM - Deadline for signing up for the fiddle contest for kids 13-18
- 2:00 PM - Kid's Fiddle Contest for teens 13-17
- 4:00 PM - Final deadline for Band Scramble signup
- 4:45 PM - Band Scramble assignments announced
- 5:00 PM - Some venues close for Band Scramble practice
- 6:00 PM - Raffle drawing and Band Scramble at Main Stage
- 6:00 PM - African Dance begins in the Dance Building
- 6:50 PM - Hear the winners of the kids fiddle contest on Main Stage
- 7:30 PM - FolkMADS Contra Dance begins
- 9:50 PM - Last call to get your instruments from the instrument check room.
- 11:00 PM - The party's over...until next year!

Main Stage Band Performances
7 great performers are scheduled Friday night from 6:30 to 11:30 PM and Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. New this year: Several performers are performing more than once, so you'll have more choice balancing all the other things there are to do at the Festival.

Songwriter Showcase
Our alternate stage for intimate performances by local singer/songwriters with their own story to tell.

Get moving with dance workshops in two venues plus evening dances on Friday and Saturday nights.

Jam With The Band!
Here’s where musicians can play or sing along with a few of our great bands. It’s ok just to listen too. Come on out and meet the up-and-coming folk and traditional music bands on the local music scene.

Band Scramble:
Our popular Band Scramble gives musicians and dancers of all levels a chance to be a Main Stage Performer at the Albuquerque Folk Festival.

Hosted Jams:
At the hosted jams, hosts are there to encourage musicians to pick a song or start a song and to make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to participate. In addition, hosts bring their own unique flare to the jam.

Music Workshops:
Participation is the name of the game at our wide variety of music and song workshops. Bring an acoustic musical instrument and/or your singing voice and join the fun.

Storytelling:
Hear a wonderful tale from some of our best local storytellers.

Li'l Folks Program:
While all of our workshops are open to participants of all ages, sessions at the Li'l Folks tent are tailored to get kids and families started enjoying home made music. And, for the second year, we're having a Kids' Fiddle Contest. You won't want to miss this!
- Arts and Crafts:

Come visit local crafters as they work on their projects or bring your own project and relax on the Front Porch while listening to music. Be sure to see the One Woman Quilt Show featuring the works of Betty Standiferd of Albuquerque.
